My name is Rich and I am one half of BarLaG Publishing.
Well, I'm going to shoot straight with everyone, I'm not good at speaking about myself, so I'm going to give you a brief instroduction.
If you have read our profile, we wish to try to publish a book of short stories, poems, short plays, essay etc. Anything that might catch our eye. If it works, we hope to keep it going.
I have always felt that some publication that have short stories by various authors stick to that one genre. We would love a publication that encompasses all genres
Personally, I love to read. Also I write short stories and have written a coulple of plays. I have to say, I don't think they are anything great, nor do I think they are terrible. I never went to college so I lack the the schooling that teaches great grammar. I just have all these stories in my head that I feel the need to get out. I have been writing since I'm 14 years old. I actually have told very few people about my "love" of writing . My family does not even know, so I guess with this post, the proverbial cat is out of the bag.
I turn this over to the other half who will introduce herself.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to know how you intend this to work? Will your collection contain both essays and plays? In one book?
Have you published anything else? What are your resources?
And don't take this the wrong way but 'BarLag' brings the eye up short and hardly comes trippingly off the tongue.

We want to make it a compilation of Essay, Stories, Poems, etc, all in one novel. So there may a couple of short stories, followed by a poem, or essay, etc.
Resources is a term that can be taken many different ways. If you are speaking financial, our resources are next to nothing and that is why we cannot afford to pay anybody. Any money spent would be out of our pockets. Any money made would be put back into another issue. (Hopefully).
If you are talking about resources of how to print, we would do it on a DIY publishing site. That way get a book into hard print at a minimal cost...most minimal production, as demanded.
Thank you about the feedback on the name. It has spun out of several ideas/ previous names.
It's all how you want to pronounce it. It can be pronounced Bar lag or Bar La G. I prefer the latter.
